PRINCETON TRANSFER STATION: FAQ's

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

We operate Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm and Saturday, 7 am to noon.

WHERE IS YOUR FACILITY LOCATED?

We are located at 1530 Peggy Lane in Princeton, Illinois. Click here for a map of our location.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR WASTE TRANSFER?

Within Princeton city limits, the cost is $2 per 50 pounds of waste. Outside of Princeton city limits, expect to pay a $45 minimum fee.

WHAT METHOD OF PAYMENT IS ACCEPTED?

You may pay by cash or check only. We do not accept credit cards.

WHAT IS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE TRANSFER STATION?

We do not accept regulated hazardous wastes, asbestos-containing material, regulated PCB material, infectious medical wastes, liquid wastes, regulated and manifested special wastes, radioactive waste, lead acid automotive batteries, household hazardous wastes, paint, fertilizer, tires, railroad ties and appliances. Yard waste is to be deposited at a separate location adjacent to the transfer station.

WHERE CAN WE TAKE PAINTS, OILS, LIQUIDS AND TIRES?

You can take them to the household hazardous waste site at 3333 Kishwaukee Street in Rockford. They are open weekends – Saturday 8 am to 4 pm, Sunday 12 pm to 4 pm, with the exception of holidays.
